I don’t know who needs to hear this, but: The views of a random person in America are not an official Democratic platform position, and you’re probably being propagandized to vote against your own self-interests in favor of a billionaire who wants lower taxes.
It’s astonishing how often right-wing propaganda fuels outrage among voters over complete nonsense. Take a look at the so-called “terrifying ideologies of the left” that these folks are supposedly so afraid of. When you dig deeper, you realize that most of the things they’re railing against are either complete fabrications—like the ridiculous claim that Tim Walz mandated tampons in boys’ bathrooms, which never happened—or they’re bizarre, one-off cases blown out of proportion to fit a narrative. Fox News, for instance, will find some random person who identifies as a cloud, and suddenly it’s a circus of mockery that Joe Biden deserves to be blamed for (no evidence offered).
They make their viewers believe that Democratic politicians are pushing these extremes, but the reality? The vast majority of these so-called examples are nothing more than isolated, unusual cases, not tied to any Democratic platform. For example, there is no Democratic platform position on trans athletes in sports.
There’s a vast body of scientific reason to accept that gender is a spectrum, but right-wing media deny and distort in order to stoke fear and anger. Instead of teaching their audience about the complexities of gender science, they push them to spit out asinine remarks like, “I can’t vote for Kamala because she supports terrifying ideologies.” It’s an emotional manipulation game designed to divert attention from the real issues, like the Republican agenda of keeping taxes low for the rich at the expense of everyone else. You should be terrified at the end of freedom in America with Trump’s Project 2025 team at the helm.
